Fatal Claw Ability Unlocks and Route Gates

Unlock Fatal Claw's confirmed traversal powers, match each one to its route gate, and recover when an ability seems to be missing.

Direct answer

The confirmed movement unlocks are Mirkam's Sinew from Mirkam, Irbes' Claws from Irbes, and James' Wings after restoring their required pieces. Absorb each defeated boss's power before backtracking.

Quick answer

  • Mirkam's Sinew is a forward dash that works in midair.
  • Irbes' Claws enable wall clinging, sliding, and wall jumping.
  • Restored James' Wings hover on air currents.
  • A boss defeat still requires the absorption interaction.

Match each route gate to the right ability

Start with the obstacle in front of Kisha. A broken airborne route calls for a midair movement check, a wall surface calls for wall movement, and an air current calls for restored wings. Doors, one-way breakable walls, and vertical shafts are also confirmed route-gate types, but their exact answer depends on the obstacle and the powers already available.

What you can seeAbility to testConfirmed result
An airborne gap or broken columnMirkam's SinewKisha performs a forward dash that can be used in midair
A wall surface or vertical climbIrbes' ClawsKisha can cling to, slide down, and jump from walls
An air current crossing a gapJames' WingsKisha can hover on the current and move freely while airborne
A door or one-way breakable wallRecheck the visible gate and current powersThese are confirmed gate types, but no single universal power mapping is established for every instance

The Elord Castle green-card route provides a concrete dash check. Jump toward the broken column, use Mirkam's Sinew in midair, and continue toward the hidden card crate only after landing the crossing.

These powers sit inside the wider first-run progression route. When the obstacle itself is unclear, compare it with the biome edges and return markers in the map and fast-travel guide.

Ability profiles and visual identification

Each movement power comes from a different story entity and answers a different route shape. Identify the source, complete the required interaction, and verify the movement in a safe space before crossing a long hazard.

Mirkam's Sinew

Boss Power

Mirkam's absorbed power gives Kisha a forward dash that remains available in midair. It is the direct answer to broken-column gaps and other routes that need extra horizontal distance.

Irbes' Claws

Boss Power

Irbes' absorbed power gives Kisha a complete wall-movement set. Clinging stabilizes the position, sliding controls descent, and wall jumping converts a vertical surface into a route.

James' Wings

Restored Power

James' Wings are restored from their required pieces rather than absorbed from Mirkam or Irbes. Once complete, they let Kisha hover on air currents and move freely while supported by the current.

Unlock the confirmed movement powers

Mirkam's Sinew

Mirkam appears near the end of Kannir Drilling Site after the conversation with Albus. Finish the encounter, interact with the defeated Mirkam to absorb his power, and then retest a route that needs forward movement in the air.

  1. Speak with Albus and continue through Kannir Drilling Site until reaching Mirkam near the end of the area.
  2. Defeat Mirkam, then interact with the defeated boss to absorb the power.
  3. Return to an airborne gap and test Mirkam's Sinew as a forward midair dash.

Irbes' Claws

Irbes is the main boss of Ashen Valley. During the second phase, dodge the two clones while keeping damage focused on Irbes. Defeat him, absorb his power, and take Irbes' Claws back to a wall route.

  1. Reach the main Ashen Valley boss encounter and begin the Irbes fight.
  2. When two clones appear in phase two, avoid them while continuing to damage Irbes.
  3. Defeat and absorb Irbes, then test clinging, sliding, and jumping on a wall surface.

James' Wings

James' Wings become usable after their required pieces are restored. Toggle the completed wings at an air current. The successful state is a stable hover followed by free airborne movement across the gap.

Confirm the route opened

Treat every blocked map edge as a state check: identify the obstacle, verify the matching power is available, then confirm the route changes after one deliberate attempt.

AbilityProgress checkRoute check
Mirkam's SinewA forward dash activates while Kisha is airborneThe broken-column style gap can be crossed rather than falling short
Irbes' ClawsKisha clings to, slides on, or jumps from a wallA wall surface or vertical shaft becomes traversable
James' WingsKisha hovers when the wings are toggled over an air currentThe current carries or supports movement across the gap

If the movement works in open space but the original route still does not change, inspect the obstacle again. A nearby door, breakable wall, shaft, wall surface, or air current may indicate a different gate type.

Diagnose a missing ability or blocked route

Use the smallest reversible check before repeating a long route.

Expected stateSymptomLikely cause within the confirmed evidenceNext check
Mirkam is defeated and Mirkam's Sinew is availableThe midair dash is still absentThe post-fight absorption interaction may not have been completedReturn to the defeated target and confirm the power was absorbed
Irbes is defeated and Irbes' Claws are availableKisha cannot use wall movementThe boss reward may not have been absorbed, or the tested surface is the wrong gateConfirm absorption, then test a clear wall surface
James' Wings are readyAn air current does not produce a hoverThe required wing pieces may not all be restoredCheck the wing restoration state before retrying the same current
A route remains closed after a valid movement testThe ability works, but the obstacle does not reactThe visible obstacle may require a different movement power or approachIdentify whether it is a door, one-way wall, shaft, wall surface, or air-current gap

After any missing-power check, return to the exact blocked edge that triggered the search. Testing at the original obstacle gives a clear success or failure state and prevents unrelated backtracking.

Use only the confirmed route mappings

The current 1.0 evidence establishes three movement behaviors and one precise route example: Mirkam's Sinew is a forward midair dash, Irbes' Claws provide wall movement, James' Wings work with air currents after restoration, and the Elord Castle green-card route uses the dash to reach a broken column.

The evidence also confirms several broader gate types, including doors, one-way breakable walls, vertical shafts, wall surfaces, and air-current gaps. It does not establish a universal one-to-one answer for every door, wall, or shaft. Use the visible obstacle and the latest confirmed ability behavior together, then judge success by the route change you can observe.

The source fights have their own tells and recovery checks in the complete boss guide. Keep the ability page for unlock and route diagnosis, then move to that guide when Mirkam or Irbes is the actual blocker.
